Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium
Pupil Premium is additional funding given to the academy to support disadvantaged students and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.
The funding is not ring-fenced but is provided to enable the academy to implement strategies to improve attainment for disadvantaged students. In some cases, these strategies are extended to include other cohorts of students who may benefit from additional support.
The Sir Robert Woodard Academy has always invested a dedicated amount of school budget share to improve the life chances of its more disadvantaged students, and welcomes the focus that the Pupil Premium Grant brings.
The academy has published one document which encompasses the barriers that disadvantaged students may encounter with their learning, our strategies to overcome these barriers, and the impact these strategies have. This document includes a detailed breakdown of how the Pupil Premium funding was spent in the previous academic year, and a summary of the key strategies that will be embedded this academic year.
This statement also includes details of the Recovery Premium Grant. This was issued to eligible schools in the academic year 2021-22 to provide further support for the educational recovery of disadvantaged students.
