Applying for a secondary school place

Before you apply

• Talk to your child about the decision.
• Look at the school's prospectus.
• Read the ofsted reports.
• Check the admissions criteria.
• Consider how your child will travel to and from school.
• Attend Open Evenings of your catchment school and any other short listed schools.
   

Complete the online application form.

West Sussex Secondary School applications.

You can apply for a secondary school place from 9.00am on Monday 2 September 2024 until 11.59pm on Thursday 31 October 2024.

You can apply for up to three different schools.

Rank the schools in order of preference - the first school listed should be the one you would most like your child to go to. 

For example:

1. Sir Robert Woodard Academy
2. Steyning Grammar
3. Davison

It is very important that you submit your application before the deadline.

(If one of your choices is a faith school you may need to submit a Supplementary Information Form (SIF). For information about this contact the school directly)
